THE 101 AFTER ONE FRAMEWORK

Toddler T.A.S.T.E.R.S.

Babies are naturally curious about food. Toddlers, on the other hand, are often wired to say “NO!” to anything new or unfamiliar. This stage of toddlerhood  is completely normal, but it can make introducing new foods feel frustrating for parents.

That is why our feeding therapist and speech language pathologist Catherine developed the Toddler T.A.S.T.E.R.S. framework - to get your toddler more familiar with new foods. The more familiar with them they are, the more likely they will take a bite!

Our approach helps toddlers become comfortable with new foods through hands-on experiences instead of pressure at the table. Your child will interact with food in everyday ways such as helping pick produce at the grocery store, standing in their kitchen tower to help prep the family meal, and learning more about food through books and conversation.

Inside 101 after one, you will find 50+ toddler friendly activities designed to spark curiosity around food and gently encourage toddlers to explore and try new things. The truth is, toddlers WANT to be involved in the kitchen. We give you the tips on how to make it fun.

If you’re a parent who followed baby led weaning, but now have a picky toddler this book is for you.

Even if your baby followed BLW, it is still very normal for picky eating to show up during the toddler years. But instead of giving in to just offering mac and cheese and chicken nuggets, there are practical ways you can move past picky eating.

Inside our toddler book, you will learn easy ways to keep exposing your toddler to new foods and dishes. We’re here to help you get back to eating one meal as a family instead of short-order cooking.

52 Around The World Recipes

One of the best things you can do during toddlerhood is keep exposing your child to new foods, flavors, and cuisines.

Even when toddlers go through phases of selective eating, continued exposure helps them stay curious about food.

  • Inside the book you will find 52 international dishes that you and your toddler can explore together. Many families choose to cook one dish per week, turning it into a fun weekly tradition where you shop for the ingredients, prepare the meal together, and learn a little about the culture behind the dish.

The recipes are adapted from traditional meals so they are simple to prepare and suitable for toddlers and the rest of the family. Each recipe also includes serving guidance so you know exactly how to offer the meal for different ages - so whether you have a 6 month old baby or a toddler (or both!) everyone can join in.

The ultimate goal is to keep expanding your toddler’s exposure to new foods while creating meaningful family moments around the table. Research shows that kids are more likely to eat vegetables and new dishes when meals are shared as a family.

Seamlessly transition from BLW to toddlerhood

Inside our 101 after one Printed Book, you will find tips for how to feed your toddler including nutrition and feeding changes, our Toddler TASTERS activities to get your toddler trying new foods without the pressure, and 101+ family friendly recipes, including the Around the World program featuring 52 international dishes.

From your toddler mom friends who’ve been there

101 After One was created by the pediatric expert team behind 101 Before One.

After helping thousands of families introduce solids, we saw that parents needed the same clear guidance once their baby turned one - and we don’t want to leave you hangin’!

We find parents who are most successful in toddlerhood are prepared - they know what to expect and they know how to respond to toddler behavior. And trust us, we know a think or two about toddlers because we have them in our house too!

Start the Toddler (feeding) Years with Confidence

Feeding toddlers will test your patience as a parent, but when you know what to expect, you can remind yourself this is just a phase!

Why we created 101 before one®

I’m Julie, and I built 101 before one® because my pediatrician simply said "feed your baby what you eat" and sent me on my way. I was a full-time working mom with no time to cook separate baby meals and no trustworthy place to turn. So I learned everything I could, built a team of pediatric specialists, and created the program I desperately needed. We're now trusted by 100,000+ families worldwide—and published by the American Academy of Pediatrics—because every parent deserves better than a shrug at a well visit.
