Be prepared (and excited!) to feed your toddler with 101 After One.
Most starting solids programs stop when your baby turns one. Ours continues into right toddlerhood with guidance, recipes, and meal plans so you can make a seamless transition from feeding your baby to feeding your toddler.
STEP ONE
Optimize nutrition for proper growth & development.
The first 1,000 days of life (conception to two years old) is a critical period for infants and toddlers as their rapidly developing brains and bodies need to be fueled by proper nutrition. Our simple Balanced Meal for Baby framework takes the guesswork out of what to serve your baby at each meal.
STEP TWO
Embrace diet diversity.
Our team of pediatric feeding experts have curated a list of 101 nutritious foods that you can introduce to your baby from 6-12 months, ensuring they are exposed to a variety of textures and flavors, helping to shape their preferences before picky eating comes around in toddlerhood.
STEP THREE
Introduce allergens early and often.
We want to foster intuitive eating skills. Whether you start with purees, finger foods, or a combination approach, we encourage you to let your baby self-feeding from day one. When your baby feeds herself in a no-pressure environment, they are more likely to establish a healthy relationship with food and become a more adventurous eater.
STEP FOUR
Encourage self-feeding from day one.
The latest research suggests that the early introduction of foods that are most likely to cause an allergic reaction, such as peanuts, fish, and eggs, might actually be beneficial in preventing food allergies. This evidence also shows that delaying food introductions in at-risk children might contribute to allergies.
STEP FIVE
Follow responsive feeding to honor hunger cues.
The most important guideline for mealtime is that there is a sharing of responsibility. Your responsibility as the parent is to decide what, when, and where the meal takes place. Your child’s responsibility is to determine how much or whether or not he or she eats. We need to trust our children to self-regulate.
STEP SIX
Share family meals so you can cook one meal and let baby eat right alongside you.
Our signature Family Meals from the Start™ program teaches you how to introduce solids to your baby and feed your family at the same time. We’ve adapted 101+ every day recipes that are simple, delicious, and nutrient-dense. Our meals are super easy, perfect for busy parents.
